Shades of Black

Joyce shows us how to work a full black outfit without looking too intimidating; we think the key is in the layers, and the mixture of materials. Black can often come across as too stern or solid, but Joyce keeps it slightly more casual in this sleeveless top with an open-fold front. The subtle difference in hues in her look, a result of the different fabric of her top and bottom, also adds some depth to the ensemble. She also tones down the severity of the black with just a hint of makeup, keeping her face au natural, save for just a bit of blush and colour on her lips. Our favourite bit about her look, however, is her nude heels, which match her skin tone almost perfectly, giving her the illusion of being even more statuesque than she already is.
