Tell us something not many people know about you:
I was born with two missing teeth! I wouldn’t have gotten braces if I’d known that tooth gaps would be cool some day.

What’s something from the past you’re nostalgic for?
Calling my friends on the phone and speaking for hours about everything and nothing. It seems like nobody has the luxury of time to do that anymore.

Share with us an interesting memory you have from childhood:
There’re a few, but when I was in primary school, I had a friend who claimed that Pokémon were real and that she had a secret supplier who sold them as pets. I believed her, and I spent $50 (which is a lot for a primary school kid in the ’90’s) buying two Pokémons from her—Pikachu and Mew—that I obviously never received.

Do you have any habits that other people find silly?
My pinky sticks out all the time, whether I’m drinking water, typing, or doing anything else.

If you could change one thing about your past, what would it be, and what would you have done differently?
There was a period in my childhood where I was extremely timid and shy, and looking back I find it hard to believe how much I’ve changed since then. If I could time travel, I’d tell my younger self to grow some guts, stand up for myself, and live my own life unapologetically!

We know you’re also a dance instructor—do you have any interesting or funny stories related to your practice?
This happened a long time ago when we had stage practice, and one of my friends really needed to use the toilet. She tried to hold it in to not waste time, but ended up peeing on stage. (laughs)
