You’re currently studying—if you could choose to be in any occupation, what would it be and why?
I don’t have a specific occupation in mind but I do want to work in the retail industry! Fashion and design are rather important to me, I want to use them as outlets to create and ideate solutions that will impact others for the better. There are many career options out there within this scope but I guess some that are of greater interest to me would be fashion photography, merchandising and retail design.

Is there a recent fashion trend that you’re not so fond of?
Honestly, I think that recent fashion trends are quite interesting as they adopt aspects of fashion from the past. I’ll just share something that I personally do not like—footwear that exposes the feet, like sandals, slippers, slides. I don’t know why but I enjoy having my feet covered, go figure!

What’s one habit or trait you have that you’re hoping to change?
My friends and family all know this—I have a terrible habit of picking on my nails. It gets pretty bad, to the point that my nail bed will be exposed. I’m so used to doing it that I can even type and pick on them concurrently!

Growing up, what was your favourite storybook or fairytale? Looking back, has that changed?
I don’t have any favourite fairytales but I do enjoy reading storybooks, especially in the past when I had more free time. I tend to read those with a dystopian setting and some of my favourites are the Divergent and The Hunger Games series! My taste has definitely shifted, as now I find myself being more drawn to romance novels and self-help books.

With the year coming to an end, are there any resolutions you’re hoping to keep in the new year?
This year has definitely been an unexpected one, but through it I was able to be more grateful for the things that I have and discovered more about myself. In 2021, I’d like to continue on this road of self-discovery and self-improvement, to hone characteristics such as patience, selflessness, and kindness.

If you could ask your future self just one thing, what would it be?
I guess I’d ask my future self something that I regularly ask my current myself: “Have you been practising love?” To me, love is more than an emotion—it’s the essence and driving force of life. I want to know if I have been loving myself, the people around me, and the environment. I don’t wish to know what happens in the future, so I’d like to ask something that encourages myself to reflect instead.
