Can you tell us a bit about your tattoos? Do you have a favourite one?
They don’t really have any meaning, I just like to travel and collect tattoos. I think my favourite one is this super weird-looking one that says 2 9, my birthday. It’s a dragon with a moon head, and I got it on my birthday in Taiwan. I also have a banana tattoo on my leg because I like to eat bananas (laughs). It’s my favourite fruit.

What do you usually do in your free time?
I spend time with my friends. We usually play music, or go drinking or skating.

What instrument do you play?
I’m a drummer, and I play underground, hardcore music. I used to be in six different bands (Plague Bearer, Destiny, Hollow Threat, Brand New Eyes, Vital Sign, and Spirits). Now I don’t really have a lot of time, and my band mates are all busy with their own things as well. But once in a while, we still hit the studio to practice and just jam.

What is one thing you miss right now?
Life before COVID. COVID really sucks. It changed everyone’s life and the things we used to do back then and now are totally different. Now I feel like I’ve become more matured because I just wake up in the morning, go to work, then go home. It’s like there’s nothing much to do. I used to play shows with my bands every week, and I even toured Asia with Hollow Threat and another band that I was a supporting drummer for—Losing End! We were actually aiming to tour Europe as well, but now with COVID, I don’t think we can do anything, so we’ll just write music and release some new songs for now.

What was the most memorable show you’ve played?
I think it would be the Indonesia show, because we toured three different places in Indonesia—Medan, Jakarta, and Bandung—so we had to fly here and there after shows for three days straight. It was really very fun.

What’s something new you’d like to learn?
Funnily enough, it’s baking. I have a recent good memory baking with someone I enjoy hanging out with, and I think it’s pretty cool that you can create new recipes to fit your palate. I added whiskey and banana to my brownies, and they came out surprisingly good!
