Introduce yourself!
I’m Ah Xia, a food blogger from Taichung, Taiwan, and I’ve been a blogger for about seven to eight years now. I think it’s what I’ll continue doing for a long time, until Instagram disappears, at least (laughs).

Do you travel a lot?
Yes! I mainly blog about food in Taiwan, so when I travel, it’s usually for leisure. The most interesting place I’ve visited by far has to be Egypt. Looking at the pyramids really made me feel like I stepped into a history textbook.

So you’re here in Singapore for a holiday?
Yes. I’ll be here for just three days–it’s my first time!

What have you seen in Singapore that you’ve enjoyed?
We’ve visited Chinatown; Changi Airport is a very nice place to shop around too! And the satay place, what’s it called? Lau Pa Sat!

I think there’s a lot to eat here, but not so much to do. We’re just exploring the downtown area like Marina Bay Sands.

What’s the best food you’ve eaten here?
Kaya toast and satay! We can find these dishes in Taiwan too, but they’re not as good as the real deal here.

Do you have any recommendations for anyone visiting Taiwan?
There’s so much to eat, and such a variety! I can’t really think of any interesting activities to do off the top of my head, but I usually enjoy walking around and shopping at Qianmei. There are also parks and greenery around where you can have picnics.

What is your all-time favourite Taiwanese dish to eat?
Braised minced pork rice or yang chun noodles—comfort food, basically.

Do you cook?
A little, but I prefer eating out because I’m too lazy to clean up after (laughs).

What do you like to do back home in Taiwan, then?
I like to just stay home and watch TV or movies, or anything that I can watch while lying on the sofa with the aircon on, and relax (laughs).
