We hear you’re a dancer! What dance style do you do?
Yeah, I’ve been dancing for about eight years! I mainly dance girls style now, but I dabble in a bit of everything.

Cool! So did you started dancing with girls style?
No, I actually started with K-pop covers and joined a K-pop dance club. From there, I gradually explored more street and commercial styles. Eventually, it shifted from just being a hobby to something I wanted to pursue as a career.

How amazing to be able to turn your hobby in a career! How’s the transition been for you?
As a creative, it can be tough and challenging to find your purpose in the industry, but I feel like I’m gradually finding my footing. So far, the transition’s been going okay—hopefully I’m getting a little better each day (laughs)!

Good to hear! Going back to dance styles, is there any particular one that you’d really love to learn?
Honestly, I’ve been spending more time practicing vogueing and exploring ballroom culture. As someone who’s part of the queer community, I’ve always been aware of vogueing, but I hadn’t really immersed myself or deeply educated myself until now. So, I’m currently trying to dive into it more meaningfully.

We also hear that you’re a dance instructor! When did you start teaching?
I’ve been teaching for some time, but took a break to focus on commercial gigs. Now I’m returning to teaching and hoping to continue honing my craft while sharing it with others.

What would you say is the most rewarding part about teaching dance?
I think it’s about creating something that’s truly your own—figuring out your style and being able to express your art in a way that feels authentic to you. What really keeps me motivated is seeing my students learn and grow, and watching a vision come to life. That whole process feels really rewarding and wholesome. Of course, there are moments of self-doubt, but having a supportive community around me reassures me that I’m on the right path.

Having a solid community really is a blessing! Would you say you’ve grown a lot as a person since you started dancing?
Yeah, I think so, because I used to be quite shy. But performing and being on stage in front of people has helped me realise that I can’t just keep to myself. It pushed me to open up and step out of my comfort zone.

Outside of dance, is there anything else that you enjoy doing?
I like to travel! The last few places I went to were London, Korea, and Bali with my friends.

Exciting! What’s the best holiday you’ve been on?
Probably Europe because I was able to go to Greece, Athens, and Santorini. That was really nice because it was my first time visiting Europe, and I got to have my European summer situation (laughs).

Last question: Are there any personal goals you’re hoping to achieve this year?
I don’t usually set specific goals for myself, but this year I just want to be more intentional and more proactive. There are things I’ve always wanted to do, like visiting countries such as London, and I’m finally making them happen. So instead of just wondering or wishing, I want to fully commit to the things I’ve set my mind to. I think it’s about being more assertive with what I want and actually living life—truly living it to the fullest.
