Introduce yourself!
My name is Mastura. I’m currently studying graphic design at the PSB Academy, and I really like the colour pink—my braces are pink, and my hair used to be pink before it washed out and I redid it.

Cool! How did you get into graphic design?
Since young, I’ve always liked art. I used to study IT but it wasn’t really working out for me, so I chose to withdraw from that course to pursue graphic design instead.

It’s great to hear that you’re now chasing your passion! How has school been for you so far?
It’s okay lah. It’s not that stressful yet because we haven’t started on any major projects.

What inspires you as a graphic designer?
Mainly my Pinterest boards and the works of my favourite artist.

Is fashion a source of inspiration for you as well?
For me, fashion is a way to personalise my character and to express myself. When I was young, I was scared to open up, so I thought that I could share my personality in other ways, like through the way that I style myself.

Oh yes, we agree—fashion is all about personalising your very own character “skin”.. Apart from art and fashion, what else do you enjoy?
I love music! I listen to everything basically, but two genres that I really like are R&B and rap.

Who was your top artist in 2025?
SZA! If she ever comes to Singapore, I really want to see her live.

Well we hope 2026 will be that year for you! Finally, if you were stranded on a deserted island, what is one thing you must have with you?
Definitely a sweater, because I get cold easily! (laughs)
