Tell us more about yourself and how long you’ve been in Singapore!
I’m Aki, I’m a hairdresser from Kyoto, Japan. I’ve been in Singapore for almost 10 years.

Why did you choose to move to Singapore?
Hmm, I don’t know why. I like Singapore (laughs). I like the food, culture, people, architecture.

Was hairdressing something you’ve always wanted to do?
Mmm, yes! I don’t know why (laughs), but I started when I was 16 years old. Now I’m already 40, and I’m the boss of SENTTEN, formerly S.A.D’s Hair Salon, in Singapore.

Tell us more about your salon!
We are a small team—Kojee recently joined us full-time after three years of working and studying with us.

We also recently rebranded and moved studios after 10 years as S.A.D’s, so we bought new plants for the salon. I like plants and I have a lot of them at home (laughs).
