Cream On The Cake

We caught Melanie on one of the rare days that she wears colour, as she admits that she usually dresses in black and white. We think that this fresh shade of mint complements her skin tone perfectly, however, and brightens up her look. Her striking nails and purse add some dimension to her outfit, while her vintage shoes are an offbeat choice that stand out from the usual choice of stilettos or plain flats. “I bought these shoes when I was studying in Australia,” she says. “I used to like vintage things and the vintage style, but it’s quite hard to keep it up in Singapore. It’s easier and more inspiring when you see vintage things more often, like when I’m overseas.” Melanie now describes her style as minimal and simple; we like how she’s infused hints of her past love for vintage into her look. Melanie loves to bake, and even though she modestly says she’s only an “okay” baker, her Instagram feed is filled with photos of her mouthwatering creations. Upon the nudging of her colleague nearby, she laughs and says, “I should probably bring some of the stuff I’ve baked to work.”
