Familiarity

Amidst the rare spot of peace and quietness at the Esplanade on a lazy weekday afternoon, the sounds of chatter and hearty laughter caught our attention, and this was when we spotted Vicki, standing out in the midst of her large family with her funky glasses and cowboy hat. Of course, we knew we just had to speak with her and snap a few photos, and though initially hesitant, she was talked into it by her enthusiastic family, and thus, we commenced a quick but memorable shoot with the bubbly Vicki.

“Should I go and get a nice dress to change into for you?” she joked in between shots, as we had her striking pose after pose for the camera. As it turns out, she was only here for a brief layover from the Philippines, before jetting off for an extended family holiday in Vietnam. Her son and daughter-in-law, on the other hand, have been living and working in Singapore for the past three years, while she jets to and from to visit the pair and to travel with the family frequently.

Not wanting to hold the group up any longer, we wrapped up our shoot and wished the family a safe journey and great trip ahead. As they strolled off to enjoy the rest of their afternoon, we too continued on our way, in search of the next exciting personality to shoot.
