Tell us something people don’t really know about you:
I obsessively curate my Spotify playlists. I like picking a mood and matching songs to them. I think a dream job would be to just create playlists for movies or TV series.
If you could be any animal in the world, what animal would you be and why?
A turtle, because you can hide from everyone whenever you want, and you don’t get judged for being a hermit, but you’re also really strong and won’t die easily because you have a natural shield. That said, I guess my true spirit animal would be a panda, because if I could, I’d spend all my time sleeping, eating and rolling off slides.
What inspires you?
I feel the most inspired when I’m reading a book, watching a movie, or listening to a song that really strikes an emotional chord. As I get older, a lot of things get reduced to routines, and I feel that it’s a lot harder to see the colour in things. I just like things that spark some sort of feeling. I’m also lucky to be surrounded by many talented friends, and seeing them push forward in life really motivates me to do better.
If you had an extra day in the week, what would you do with the time?
I’d probably spend more time with my family and my dog. My dog is becoming increasingly rebellious and unaffectionate—he’s probably resentful because I don’t take him out for walks and car rides as much as I used to!
What life skills are rarely taught but extremely useful?
I think discipline is a really underrated life skill, and it’s something I wish I’d learned a little earlier in life. Besides that, I’d say it’s probably negotiation skills, and just knowing how to ask for what you’re worth.
If you could invite any three people to your fantasy dinner party, who would you invite and why?
Gillian Jacobs, because she’s cool and I love all the shows she appears in. The second would be the writer Joan Didion, because I think her mind is fascinating, and lastly the manga artist Ai Yazawa, so I’ll finally get to know how her series Nana ends.
