Forest Fairy
We already know Linna’s greatly inspired by the Japanese mori girl subculture from the last time we met her, and her outfit this time round only emphasised her influences further. A crochet lace playsuit, a vintage floral embroidered jacket and paisley satchel, plus bunny-print socks (!) and that signature mane of curls – this girl’s a walking, talking forest fairy. “I’m a traveller, a collector, a forest wanderer. If I could have some kind of magical power, I’d like to be able to go anywhere in the world in a second – I’d love to visit all kinds of forests!” A dreamer and creator of the most whimsical kind, Linna chose (what else?) the deer as an animal she would be. “I watched ‘Bambi’ when I was young and since then I always had an image of me being a deer in a natural environment,” she laughed. So what would she do in a real forest? “I’d sketch, colour, maybe do a couple of outfit shoots for my blog, maybe pick up a branch and create something,” she mused. Big on D.I.Y. projects, Linna regularly hunts for vintage pieces which she would then deconstruct and embellish with her own personal touch. She cites Japanese actress Aoi Yu (also a mori girl) as a key inspiration, with Yu’s movies such as “Honey and Clover” and “Hula Girls” as her favourites that “capture some feelings I can’t explain”. Would she like dinner with Yu then? “I’d like dinner with (Korean idol) Jang Geun Suk,” she laughed, “As you can see, I’m lost in my own world with a K-pop fan side!”
