From Scratch
I love going to art museums and looking at art in general.
I’ve gone to Vietnam to buy art and travelled to Europe to appreciate art. I enjoy calligraphy and I do practise it—I learn from Joanne from The Letter J Supply.
I support local.
They’ve definitely come a long way, especially in fashion. I used to patronise Womb when they were located at Far East Plaza and fresh and young—now they’re so big! I’m a big fan of In Good Company too.
If you could do anything other than what you’re doing today, what would you choose and why?
I’d be a chef. I really like cooking. I’m polishing up on my new recipes—I experiment quite a lot. I made chashu ramen for 10 people once, during a ski trip. I go on mission trips for church and I’d cook a Christmas dinner for over a hundred people on the streets. I learnt, from a Mexican chef, how to make good quesadillas and wraps from scratch, and also the fillings.
Share something you’ve learnt in your years as a mother.
Patience and forgiveness. I work very long hours and I’m a single mum. My son’s been kind and patient. They do make mistakes but I think they’re still children at the end of the day so lots of love, lots of laughter!
If somebody were to offer you an unlimited supply of something, what would you ask for and why?
Unconditional and unlimited love—that’s something no money can ever buy.
What’s one thing you’d eat for the rest of your life?
Rice. (laughs) I’m Chinese!
