Stanley is quite a stickler for proper menswear. “I do feel that the Ministry of Education should include a grooming class in secondary school, and teach the basics of dressing up,” he says. “For example, the last button of a jacket should never be buttoned, and your shoes and belt should be in matching colours. No striped shirts with striped pants, or checked ties with checked shirts. I can’t stand it when I see guys waste a perfectly fine pair of shoes by wearing off the rubber and wood sole.” When it comes to his own dressing, Stanley is equally particular, although he says he prefers subtlety. “I tend to personalise with accessories: rings, bracelet, collar pin, tie pin, but usually not more than three accessories for work wear,” he says. “I don’t buy off the rack work wear. Getting a good tailor, using good fabric and proper washing and ironing gives them longer life span. In the long run, it actually can save you money.” Ultimately, Stanley believes in keeping it simple, and in wearing clothes that fit well. Outside of work, Stanley says that football is his favourite sport, but he’s been “pretty obsessed” with golf ever since he picked it up the past year. Stanley has a dog cheekily named Hor Fun, after a local, gravy-based rice noodle dish, and says that if he could, he’d love to be a football player or a travel show host, and go for an overseas adventure with his fiancée and his dog. Stanley was previously seen here and here.
