Tell us about yourself—what do you do?
I’m currently part-timing at a florist’s, but I’m on a career break. I was previously a commercial analyst at an e-commerce company for two and a half years before this, but I decided that I wanted to take a break to figure out what I wanted to do next.
Why the decision to work at a florist’s?
Working in the corporate world doesn’t give you much time to spend with your loved ones, and the expectations placed on you at work can get overwhelming sometimes. I like flowers, but I’m not sure I want to invest in a professional course, so I took up this part-time job as a way to learn while getting paid for it.
What’s a plant that describes you?
An anemone. It’s very unique, and it requires meticulous and loving care in a controlled environment to flourish, which kind of describes me right now—I’m looking for the right environment to grow in.
What’s something you’d like to be good at?
It sounds quite generic, but I think that planning and coordination are important in all fields of work.
