Tell us more about yourself and what you do for work!
I’m a Malaysian, but I work in Singapore as a merchandiser. Basically, I go to stores like NTUC to service the brands that I manage. Most of the time, I’ll be running around the central areas like Bugis, Raffles, Marina Bay, and Orchard.

I still live in Johor Bahru with my wife, so I travel to and from Malaysia five days a week for work. It’s not too bad because even though I get up at 6AM, I’m usually able to be home by about 6:30PM.

Why did you choose to get a job in Singapore?
In this life, we must have our own adventures. Before this, I was in the oil and gas industry. Then I left to become a self-taught website and graphic designer. But these days, because the Malaysian market is not too good, I decided to move up to Singapore to try to do something for myself and my wife, and also our unborn child.

Oh, congrats! Are you looking forward to being a dad?
Yeah! I’ve waited for seven years! It’s a new adventure for my wife and I, and I can’t say for sure what it’s going to be like, but I’m happy to try. I love kids and I really want to be a dad. I don’t care if it’s a boy or a girl—I’m just hoping for the best.

Last year, my wife suffered a miscarriage, so this time round, we’re trying not to be too stressed, and to live our lives better.

Would you want to have even more kids in the future?
Yeah, if my financials agree with it, why not?

Is there anything you’ve learned about yourself or your wife through these pregnancies?
A lot. My wife tends to be more emotional when she’s pregnant, so I’ve learned to be more patient and to agree with everything she says. You know what people say, happy wife, happy life (laughs).
