Keeping Balance

Kathy’s eclectic dress sense can be suitably summed up by three words that she chose herself: “1960s tomboy kitten.” Drawing inspiration from sources as varied as steampunk, The Little Mermaid, Haruki Murakami, and Alexa Chung, Kathy is one unique character. Dressing up a grey sweatshirt with a midi-length skirt, patterned sandals, and a sunny smile, Kathy is definitely a balance of contrasts—something that she says she believes in. “My birthday just passed,” she says, “and quite aptly, this phrase by Heraclitus struck me: “The only thing that is constant is change.”” With such a mix of influences, we ask Kathy for a recommendation. “I think everyone should check out local band Amateur Takes Control.
