Lost In Translation

What’s something not many people know about working in advertising?
Mainly just not knowing what advertising is. People are exposed to so much advertising everyday, but they don’t realise it. At the same time, it’s sometimes hard for me to explain what I do, even to my parents.

Where do you draw inspiration?
It comes from everywhere—it could be from a conversation I had with my wife, something I saw on my way to work, anything. I also get inspired by things I watch—I’m currently watching a Netflix series called Lost In Space. I like sci-fi in general so I’m enjoying it so far.

Some things you can’t live without in your wardrobe?
Jeans, and leather accessories. Especially with vegetable-tanned leather, the patina that it gains over time really adds character to the pieces you own.

If you could switch lives with anyone for one day, who would it be and why?
Donald Trump. I’d like to know what it’s like to have all that power and say whatever I want, and not care about what others think.

Pet peeve?
People who aren’t punctual. I try to always be on time, so it bothers me when people turn up late to things.

What’s the most memorable experience you’ve had while travelling?
I was in Egypt a long time ago, and I got lost in one of the pyramids. I was crawling in a passage of some kind and I lost my way. I was only in there for about 20 minutes, but in the moment it was terrifying.
