How did your interest in interior design first start?
An office I worked at previously was going through a complete transformation and I excitedly witnessed the entire process during my time there. That was the start of my curiosity and interest in interior design. I used to study biomedical engineering in polytechnic so this was a total change.
Tell us something you enjoy the most about your job and one thing you’d change about the industry if you could?
I like seeing the concept you had in mind for months brought to life. This can be a long process of problem solving, but knowing that you played a role to bring a project to fruition is equal parts satisfying and rewarding. If I could change one thing about my industry, I’d like designers in Singapore to continuously get more recognition.
With more people spending time at home over this period, how do you think your relationship with your living space has changed?
Now that living spaces have taken on the role of an office, the space should offer plenty of comfort for our well-being. It can be as simple as switching up the paint colour to a soothing palette or incorporating live plants into your space!
A change or a fresh start you’re looking forward to the most next year is:
I’m honestly looking forward to anything that comes my way! Perhaps I’d finally muster the courage to do something I normally wouldn’t to switch up my life.
If you had to choose just one type of cuisine to eat for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Tough one. I’d pick Japanese cuisine for its comforting meals. Nothing warms the heart like a delicious bowl of hot ramen soup!
If you could choose something to be famous for, what would it be?
I still have daydreams of being a superhero and saving people from their misfortunes (laughs).
