Can you please introduce yourself?
Hi, my name is Eizlynn, and I’m currently in my final year of my diploma in Creative Direction in Fashion at LASALLE. After this,I do plan on doing a degree, but not in the creative industry. Maybe something related to criminology or psychology.
Interesting! Why the switch from fashion?
I feel that even if you’re passionate about something, it doesn’t mean you have to pursue it. Unfortunately, I feel that fashion won’t sustain me in the long run. I mean, if you’re really ambitious and really passionate about it, you can thrive, but I think for me, I don’t see a future in the creative industry. I still love it, but I just really want to pursue something else.
What jobs are you looking at within the field of criminally and psychology?
As a true crime fan, I actually want to delve more into human behaviour, like criminal behaviour. I find it fascinating!
How did you come to this realisation?
I think after studying fashion, I came to realise that I don’t want to pursue it. With that being said, I do hope that someone in Singapore makes it big and changes the fashion industry in Singapore. Even though I feel like people dress nicely and there are definitely stylish people here, I don’t see anyone thats doing anything big, or at least if they did, it’s not recognised.
What are your hopes for the local fashion scene?
Maybe Singapore becoming the next fashion hub—I think that would be so cool!
For sure! What are some of your favourite brands or fashion designers?
I would say Vivienne Westwood. As a fan of prints and textures, I really love the plaid patterns they use. I think plaid should be worn more often. Now its all about polka dots, and while I love polka dots, I think plaid is underrated—it’s my go-to!
Since we’re in the new year, did you make any resolutions for 2026?
I want to be more analogue and more present. I’m so addicted to my phone its actually disgusting (laughs)! I also feel like I don’t appreciate Singapore enough since I always stay at home, so I want to make an effort to explore more of the country.
