How long have you been retired, and what were you doing before then?
I’ve been retired for about four years, and before that… nothing, just making myself happy (laughs).

Oh yes, happiness is the most important thing in life! How has retirement life been for you?
I’ve been enjoying it. Every day is like a new adventure.

That’s great! What was the best adventure you had last year?
Probably one of the holidays I went on in the last few months of the year. I went to Istanbul with my family for about 12-13 days. It was just the four of us, and I enjoyed the makan (eating) the most (laughs).

That’s sweet! Do you travel with your family very often?
Not really, maybe once a year.

Well it’s nice to hear that you make time for each other. Of all of the places you’ve travelled to, which is your favourite city or country?
In the whole world, most probably Amsterdam. The nightlife is good there—I like watching their live bands.

Cool! Do you play music yourself?
No, no, I don’t play any music. I just enjoy it, especially rock and reggae. I used to be a seaman, so I travelled a lot and mostly listened to reggae music.

So did this love for rock and reggae get passed down to your kids?
No (laughs). They have totally different interests. They listen to their own music, most probably Korean music.
