Superwoman

With her statuesque height and bold printed dress, it was hard to miss Barbara. She might be a high-flying lawyer, but this mother of two has a soft side; she wears a Rainbow Loom bracelet lovingly made by her kids, and she still finds the time each morning to get her kids on the school bus at 7.40AM sharp. Family life is clearly important to Barbara, who shows disdain for people who spend too much time on their mobile devices. “When you are with friends or family, put your phone away,” she says. “I really don’t understand people who, when spending time with their loved ones, are checking Facebook, Instagram, etc. Enjoy the moment. The rest of the world can wait, for a little while.” Beyond family, Barbara is a mixed bag of cultures and heritages: born in the US, with an Indonesian grandmother, a citizenship from the Netherlands, and 8 years under her belt in Singapore, perhaps it is this worldly nature that allows her to appreciate the small things in life.
