What I look out for when it comes to workwear:
Does it come in black? It started as a lazy person’s way of doing laundry since dark colours will never stain. Black just also happened to be very apt in a client-facing job.
Best piece of advice I’ve ever received:
Something along the lines of: being comfortable is a sign that you’re not challenging yourself, and that should scare you.
What do you do to keep stress at bay?
A run and brunch on the weekend. On weekdays, a little jig before work always helps.
Secret guilty pleasures:
Scented candles are a weakness. Some say I have enough to build a shrine. Talk about burning money, but hey, at least it smells amazing!
Plans for the year:
I recently moved out of banking and started my new role in (corporate) forensics. So I’ve checked that off the to-do list. I’m also hoping to attain my openwater diving certificate so more dive trips ahead are in the works.
What’s corporate forensics?
It’s quite a niche area, more so related to the financial sector rather than the usual bloodied crime scene depicted on TV. You know what they say, follow the money! Or sometimes, there’s usually a good digital trail to follow.
