The Bright Side

I’m currently doing my masters in biomedical science.
I’m going to apply to medical school, and hopefully become a doctor. I like the medical field and being able to help people.

What are some things you’d like to see the cure for in the future?
Autoimmune diseases that we currently have no cure for like lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis.

What do you miss most about home when you’re away?
Being able to cook! There’s nothing like a home cooked meal, where I can choose exactly what is being made and put into my food.

What’s something not many people know about Mexico, where you’re from?
People usually think Mexico is very poor, that there’s a lot of violence, and that it isn’t safe. There are many parts of Mexico that are filled with culture and good people, and many places that are very safe as well.

What’s the most interesting place you’ve travelled to? What did you see or experience there?
Vietnam! The culture there is so different from anything I’ve ever experienced. I saw people working in the street markets and food stands, and it was amazing to see how hard these people work to make a living under poor conditions.

What’s something that isn’t taught in schools, but that you believe everyone should learn?
