Heineken x Shentonista: Moderate Drinkers Wanted — Driven
Lisi, Accounting. Dress from Beyond The Vines, bag from Kate Spade Saturday, watch from Timex, shoes from Charles & Keith.
Lisi’s about to get married soon, with her wedding shoot happening just this month, so when we stopped her and her fiancé on a night out in Club Street, he joked that this was going to be a pre-shoot rehearsal. It’s clear that he has nothing to worry about, however; even though she was initially intimidated by the set-up, Lisi slowly warmed up and handled both the shoot and interview like a pro.
Shentonista (S): How often do you go out for drinks after work?
Lisi (L): Quite often, about twice a week.
S: Usually in groups, or solo? With your colleagues or friends outside of work?
L: I usually go with friends, colleagues or my boyfriend.
S: How much do you usually drink? Why? Do you know what’s your personal limit?
L: It depends. Maybe 1 pint of beer if I’m with my colleagues. When I’m with friends, around 3 or 4 glasses of wine.
S: In our culture where alcohol is easily accessible, do you think it’s important to drink moderately? Why?
L: Yes. Because traffic rules are quite tight these days, and I usually drive, so I have to control the amount I drink; the maximum is a pint.
S: What if your friends ask you to drink more than usual?
L: I just say no, especially when I’m driving.
S: Besides going out for drinks, what other activities do you enjoy? Any other hobbies?
L: Go out shopping. (laughs, upon seeing the look on her fiancé’s face) We just went shopping earlier this afternoon! And yoga once in a while. I jog about three times a week too.
S: So you balance your drinking with exercise?
L: Yeah, I do.
S: What would you describe your personal style as?
L: From Mondays to Thursdays: a pencil skirt and blouse, something slightly more corporate. On Fridays I can dress like how I am dressed now.
S: What do you usually look out for when it comes to workwear? Any pet peeves?
L: The cut and colour, because I work in a corporate environment, so nothing too loud from Mondays to Thursdays. So pieces in pastel, and muted colours.
S: What’s your personal go-to when you’re having a stressful day?
L: I spend money. (laughs sheepishly)
S: (to fiancé) Is that true?
F: Sad to say, yes.
L: I can buy anything, just for retail therapy. I just have to buy an item.
S: What’s the last thing that you bought?
L: A bag; it wasn’t that expensive!
