Daniel believes that style is inward-driven, and that it develops as one discovers more about themselves. “But no matter what, it has to be functional, and it’s important to feel comfortable with what you wear.” Making sure not to ‘over-work’ his look, as some people tend to do by including too many details, Daniel normally has one centrepiece that everything else is built around. While there is no dress code at work for him to adhere to, Daniel makes it a point to look professional. “I pay a little more attention to fit and subtle detailing to spice up an otherwise conventional look. The key to successfully personalising a look is really how you feel about yourself when you wear what you have put together.” This professionalism, projected visually, is also carried over to his attitude towards work. “The most important attitudes to have are to be hardworking and keeping an open-mind — this is a time to soak in any experience like a sponge.” Work aside, Daniel recharges by travelling somewhere where he can experience a different way of life, or simply by listening to music. “There will inherently be tensions between work and personal life for most people, but priorities change with different stages of our career or life. It is important to take stock of where we are from time to time and find ways to recharge yourself.”
