Dahlia’s style hasn’t changed much since the last time we photographed her; her preference for pieces in muted, neutral tones and drapey silhouettes with clean lines remains. Dahlia works in advertising, and time and experience have made her realise that her job doesn’t necessarily have to be her passion. “Every job has its own set of stresses, and I’m not sure if I’d like the external pressures of an everyday job to be a part of my passion,” she says. “I’d rather enjoy my passions in my own time.” When it comes to dealing with the stresses of work or life, Dahlia adopts different approaches for different situations. “If it’s a specific problem, I try to list out the next viable steps so that I can address the issue and forget it. Even if there isn’t an immediate solution, I’ll at least know that I’ve done all I can, so there’s no point worrying,” she says. “If it’s a general mood, I’ll go for a swim at night. It’s very calming. Or I’ll light a candle and curl up with a book and a glass of wine.” In an ideal world, Dahlia envisions herself as a travel writer or an illustrator, and mentions that she’s taking small steps to include bits of both into her life this year by developing new skills and mastering existing ones. “It’s a typical answer, but I want to explore new places and experience new things.”
