Sean summarises his personal style into one phrase: “comfortable, functional, and as dark as possible”, and today’s casual, all-black ensemble encapsulates his style perfectly. Sean works for a men’s magazine, and might have developed his eye for picking pieces to create casual, yet still well-put-together outfits from his job as a writer, but he shares that this profession wasn’t in his original plan for his life. “I’ve always wanted to write, especially fiction. I just never thought I’d write for a men’s magazine. A friend of mine got me an internship, and I kept with it because bills need to be paid.” If Sean could be in any other job, however, he’d love to sell comic books; he’s a “huge comic book fan”. “My favourite comic of all time would probably be Sandman, as clichéd as it sounds.” Sean has been in the fashion and publishing industry for a few years, and something he’s discovered is that everybody, regardless of who they are, is human at their core, with their own strengths and flaws. “We talk to the really rich sometimes, and you realise that everyone is a human being as well. So no matter what someone has accomplished, he’s still a human being.” Those encounters might have played a part in forming the motto he lives by: “Try not to judge, try not to be judged, and just live life the way you want to.”
