How long have you been in Singapore?
I got into recruitment through a friend’s sister, and it’s been almost four years since I came here for work. I think Singapore’s the most convenient city to live in, and the food is great. I love the char kway teow and chilli crabs; they’re always good.
Tell us something interesting about yourself.
I’m the youngest of seven children, and I’ve got 14 nieces and nephews who keep me quite busy. It’s a bit crazy and kind of like a zoo back home in Australia.
What is one moment in your life that you’re proudest of?
Starting my own business. I work for myself, so that’s just me on the team. It’s alright so far, but I think I might need to hire a few more people soon.
Some lessons and advice for new entrepreneurs:
Always prepare for anything, and definitely have lots of options open. Also be patient, because it’s not as easy as it sounds. (laughs). And persevere.
One wardrobe staple?
A maxi dress, at least in this climate.
One thing I’ll never be caught dead wearing:
Crocs!
