What’s an important lesson you’ve learned from your work?
One of the most important things has been to look at things from multiple perspectives. As a researcher, I formulate recommendations by analysing multiple data points. I apply this in my everyday life by being open-minded, and not easily jumping to conclusions.

What’s a dream job you’d like to have?
If my current career does not work out, I’d love to be a photojournalist. It seems that everyone wants to be a photographer these days, but this is something that I’ve always wanted to do, but never had the guts or chance to do so. I’d like to capture images that tell stories which make the viewers feel something, beyond just looking pretty.

What’s the last thing you read that you’d recommend to others?
I recently picked up Tesla, Space X, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future at the airport while on a work trip. I believe that Elon Musk is a true visionary and the most exciting creator and innovator of this generation, and this is one of those books that will leave you inspired to do something bigger and more purposeful.

What’s something you think more people should know or care about?
I hope that people become more conscious rather than compulsive when buying clothes. When I recently moved out of my old flat, I was shocked to see the amount of clothes I’d amassed, many of which I hadn’t worn much. Apart from being a waste of money, it also damages to the environment. I hope that people know that it is completely okay to repeat and rotate clothes.

If you could change one thing about the world, big or small, what would it be and why?
I hope that traveling from one country to another would be easier, faster, and more accessible to everyone. Also, I wish that all passports could be equal! As a Philippines passport holder, I hate enduring visa applications while my friends with ‘stronger’ passports need not endure the same stress or pay exorbitant visa fees.

What do you think is the most important trait someone can have in life?
I believe that empathy is the best trait. It is through empathy that you become a better human.
