What ’s the most difficult part of your job?
I’ve been working in this position for nearly two years now, and being a design lead who has to manage people is quite a challenge, because I’m still used to working alone.

What has been the biggest change in your life this year?
There have been a lot of changes, but they’ve mostly been internal. I’ve learnt to be more confident, and I’m learning to be okay with being uncomfortable in certain situations. I’ve realised that being uncomfortable is good, because it means there’s room for growth.

Is there any skill you wish you could master immediately?
Public speaking, but I think I’m slowly working on it.

Where do you hope to see yourself five years into the future?
I hope to start something of my own, especially within the illustration field. Eventually, I want to shift the focus from working for people to working for myself—I’m looking to explore conducting workshops and eventually making a new collective of female artists to create an exhibition.

Is there someone who inspires you?
Kristal Melson—I see her as a mentor of sorts for all my creative ventures. She manages a corporate job and her illustration side gigs at the same time, so that’s somewhere I’m hoping to reach.
