You’re currently working in the finance industry—what first attracted you to this sector?
A year as an associate in my first job within the finance industry was an eye-opener for me. I loved how challenging and fast-paced this job is. I believe this exciting industry provides great opportunities in terms of career paths and progression.

What would you say is the toughest part about your job?
Ironically, I think the toughest part for me is the need to constantly keep up with its pace. It can be draining at times because not every day is a good day.

Food’s something that’s very personal to us—what’s something that always makes you feel better, no matter the situation?
Hotpot, definitely. Hot soup and long conversations are a perfect combination!

What are some traits you look for in a friend?
Apart from the general traits like being kind and etc., I think my friends need to be considered low-maintenance. It’s tough to be constantly connecting with people when you are working and studying at the same time.

What’s one song that’s been recently on your mind?
Grandmother’s Words by Ricky Xiao. It was my late grandmother’s birthday in early February and this song has been stuck on my mind since. I was quite a self-absorbed rebellious teen when we lost her a few years ago. Sadly, I learnt to appreciate the things she has done for me only after she was gone.

When was the last time you tried something for the first time?
I’ve pushed myself to try many new things in the past year. Although my list does not contain any big things like sky diving and bungee jumping, those that made it to the list were things I shrugged off or actively avoided in the past. The most recent one would be to enrol myself for driving lessons.
