Tell us a little bit about what you do as a VFX producer:
I basically make sure my client’s impossible dreams come true using Visual Effects (VFX). VFX is the movie magic you see in the cinemas, but we do it for advertising and even small content creators.

I manage post-production, working together with my VFX/Post Production team to find solutions for the clients’ storyboards.

What first got you interested in your current line of work?
It started from a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, when a boy watched his first Star Wars movie and wondered how they made the space ships and light sabres in the movie. Since then, I was always interested in how they made movies. 

What’s something you love the most about owning a scooter?
The freedom to go anywhere at any time. It’s like your own car, but you can feel the wind. And it’s more affordable (before the jump in COE prices for motorbikes).

Share with us an interesting scooter-related memory.
I did a solo ride around Taiwan on a Vespa. I rode from Taipei all the way down to Sun Moon Lake, then up the mountains through Wuling/Sakuma Pass (which is the highest paved road in Taiwan), down into Taroko Gorge and then back north to Taipei. The weather and scenery was amazing and I would like to go back and do the full loop all the way down to Kenting. 

When was the last time you tried something for the first time? Why?
During the Circuit Breaker period last year, I started on my woodworking journey, building small pieces of furniture to make the work-from-home experience more comfortable. It gave me some time to think back on how we look at everyday items, how they are used and how they are wasted when disposed. I have been collecting waste solid wood from older furniture and designing new uses for them. 

Where do you see yourself in 10 years’ time?
Either on set supervising VFX or retired from the stressful world of advertising and starting to build custom furniture from waste materials.

What’s one trait that society needs more of?
Upcycling! We should not just throw away things once we’re done with them. If you’re just going to use it once, maybe you don’t need it.
