Tell us a bit about yourself.
My dad is French and my mum is Chinese, and I was born in France but moved to Singapore 10 years ago. I’m studying in the International French School right now, but my family will be moving back to France in a couple of weeks.
Which part of France are you from? Tell us more about it.
I’m from Paris. I would say that it’s quite different from Singapore, in the sense that some places are a bit more dangerous than others.
I definitely recommend not going to the North of Paris, because that’s what people would usually consider more dangerous, and it’s usually less pretty as well. The other places in Paris are pretty nice though! My favourite spot is the Louvre (laughs). It’s very famous, but I think it’s probably the best place.
What is one thing you’ll miss the most about Singapore?
The weather, because it’s always so sunny, and the skies are so blue here. I’ll also miss the greenery, the culture, and the public transportation system—it’s so easy to move from one place to another.
Apart from that, I’ll also miss the malls here. There aren’t a lot of malls in France. It’s usually more like individual shops. I also think that some of the museums here are very different from the ones in Paris, even though there are more of them there. The museums here are more Asian-focused, which I think is pretty interesting.
Do you visit museums very often?
Well, I’m trying to visit more often. I feel like I’m usually pretty busy, but I try to go whenever I can, because there’s so much to see and learn.
I know that a lot of people my age don’t necessarily like museums, but I think they’re pretty cool.
What’s the most memorable exhibit that you’ve seen?
I went to the ArtScience Museum one time, and they had this Disney exhibition that I thought was pretty cool. It was quite interesting to learn a bit more about Walt Disney and all of his films, and I think it was nice to understand more about what goes on behind the making of Disney films, and to learn that in the end, it’s more than just a children’s movie, and that there’s a lot more going on than we realise.
I wouldn’t necessarily say I’m a big Disney fan though. I mean, I’m not against Disney in any way (laughs), and I thought the exhibition was really nice.
What are some things you like to do over the weekend?
Mostly I like hanging out with friends. I just kind of see what they wanna do, and then I go with them (laughs).
