As Time Goes

Tell us about yourself!
My nickname is O. I’m from Thailand, and I work in the home shopping business, the kind that you see on tv where people can call in and buy products.

That’s so interesting! How did you get started in this line of work?
A friend of a friend introduced me to that company, and now I’ve been there for over 13 years. My role is to source for products to sell, mainly in the beauty and fashion categories. In fact, my favourite product to sell is anything that has to do with anti-aging because those are the ones that I’m particularly interested in myself (laughs).

What brings you to Singapore?
I’ve actually been here once or twice a long time ago, but that was just for a quick visit or transit. Now that I have slightly more time, I’ve brought my family along and we’ll be touring and exploring the country proper.

We’re going to eat satay for dinner, and I’m quite curious to taste how different it is from the ones we have in Thailand.

What else will you be doing beside enjoying the local food?
I’m actually not too sure because my son is the one who arranged everything, so it’ll be a surprise for me! But I’ve really been enjoying my time here so far. I find that Singapore is a very nice city, and very clean compared to where we come from. The people are also mostly very nice.

One last question, what is your favourite country that you’ve ever travelled to?
Switzerland—I love the nature, and it’s so peaceful and clean.
