Please introduce yourself!
Heya, I’m Shannon, I’m 26 this year, and I’m a Chindian! I’m passionate about creating films and visuals, and am always on the lookout for the next wild idea. In my free time, you’ll find me bouldering or doing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu!

We heard you work in production. Tell us how got into it!
I got into production through my diploma in Broadcast Media. Honestly, I didn’t enjoy it at first, but over time, I came to appreciate its beauty, and that’s when my passion for the endless pursuit of film really started to grow.

Cool! What’s a piece of media that has inspired you recently?
Films by Wes Anderson, Edgar Wright, and Wong Kar Wai as they are all my key inspirations. Lately, though, I’ve been exploring how to incorporate still-life, often seen in photography, into my videography.

Talk to us about your tattoos! Which one is your favourite?
My favourite tattoo is the one on my middle finger! It’s a sad face—a very simple and silly tattoo inspired by someone once telling me to “turn that frown upside down.”

Very cute! What are some of your favourite fashion brands?
I am a big fan of punk-inspired brands like DROPDEAD and also workwear brands like Carhartt and HUMAN MADE. I own a statement jacket from each of these brands!

What’s something that people don’t know about you?
I’m naturally an introvert, but with some extroverted tendencies! I really value having my own time and space to recharge, but most of my hobbies and activities tend to be pretty social and extroverted.

What’s your biggest pet peeve?
The sound when one slides their fingers on acoustic guitar strings. To me, it’s the equivalent of fingernails on chalkboards!

The best meal you ate recently is—
The best meal I’ve had recently was Mee Bakso from a small corner shop in Bintan. It only cost about SGD$3, but it really hit the spot—it tasted so home-cooked, which was exactly what I needed then!

What’s your song and album of the year?
My song of the year would be Waiting Room by Real Friends, and my album of the year would be Post Human: NeX GEn by Bring Me The Horizon.

Finally, what’s one quote or motto you’d like to take with you into 2026?
One quote that I would like to take into 2026 is something that I have resonated with since I was a young kid which was shared by my grandfather: “If you’re scared of something do it scared, cause what is worst is to never experience anything in this life and call it living.”
