Introduce yourself!
I’m Marie and I’m from Austria. I’m currently traveling through Asia!
We heard that you convinced a friend her to quit her job and join you in your travels.
Yeah (laughs). I told her that traveling is really nice, and she said she wanted to quit her job before, so it wasn’t something that was out of the blue. I think she’s a lot happier now.
You’re quite convincing it seems! Where have you travelled to so far?
I started in Bangkok back in November last year, then I went to Laos, Vietnam, then the islands of Thailand. When I was there, I spent a long time on Koh Pha Ngan—it’s my favourite island.
Do you have a favourite memory from your travels thus far?
I did a three-day tour of the Ha Giang Loop in Vietnam. It was a crazy experience! It goes steep down, and there are many narrow streets. The weather wasn’t that good either—it was cold, rainy, and foggy. There was only about an hour of sunlight a day, but it was so nice.
That sounds intense! How are you liking Singapore so far?
It’s a little bit hot right now (laughs). I was actually in Singapore about a couple of months ago. It was more rainy then. I really like the food in Singapore! It’s a bit more expensive here, but it’s still really delicious.
What are you planning to do in the rest of your time here?
I’m looking at going to a museum, maybe the Singapore Art Museum which I’ve heard about. Just something indoors because we don’t want to spend too much time under the sun.
