Introduce yourself!
My name is Izaac and I like to play sports and watch movies. I’ll also be enlisting into the army soon. I wouldn’t say I’m excited, but I’m anticipating it because all my other friends are there. It’s something we all have to go through together.
Do you know what you want to pursue after completing your National Service?
I’m most likely going to pursue finance. I did retail before, but I wasn’t satisfied with it because I didn’t earn any commissions, even though I brought in customers. I think I’ll enjoy something that’s more performance-based, like finance. Maybe investment banking.
I’m interested in money and economics specifically—it was my favourite subject in Junior College, so I’d like to continue pursuing something like that. I also enjoy talking to people, so I’d like to be more involved in the consultancy side of finance rather than the analytical side of it.
Wishing you all the best with that! Going back to your hobbies, what kind of sports do you play?
I’m not the best at any of them, but I like to play basketball. I was also in frisbee back in school. Sometimes I like to play football too.
How about movies? What kinds do you usually enjoy?
All kinds of movies! I usually like simpler movies, like 10 Things I Hate About You. I also like Reservoir Dogs, which was Quentin Tarantino’s first movie. The way it expands on such a simple, restricted basis is what stands out to me.
Interesting! We also hear you’re attached. What’s your favourite memory with your partner?
I feel like favourite is hard to quantify, but the most memorable thing would be the first time she brought me out on a date, which was last year on my birthday. I never expected a girl to bring me out on a date. It was really well-planned — she paid for my food and it was delicious. She also bought me a Lego Batman. I’m very into DC and Lego, so that was the best gift I could’ve received.
That’s such a sweet memory! So, DC over Marvel?
Not necessarily. I think that’s a really hard question.
Which character speaks to you the most?
My favourite character is Wolverine, because he’s just cool. He’s aggressive, he’s passionate, and he just has a lot of tenacity. I feel like his character serves as a reminder to myself whenever I do anything. For example, in sports, I try to do my best. Anything I do, I try my best and put in my 110%.
That’s a really good mindset to have. Where do you see yourself when you’re 30 years old?
I want to make a lot of money in a short amount of time. My dream job would be a freelance one which allows me to travel the world. Other things I would like to do are become a movie director, or a Lego designer. Finance is sort of my way of just earning a lot of money so that I can pursue my other interests.
