Introduce yourself!
I’m Suzanna, and I work in a tech company as a facilities executive. I’ve been doing this for three years now, and I enjoy what I do! I basically handle staff and the new hires, so my team and I will prepare their welcome and onboarding package and also answer to inquiries from existing staff.

Sounds fun! Like no two days are ever the same. That said, what’s your favourite part of the job?
Eating (laughs). We have a lot of events with free food, so that’s always my favourite part. But on a more serious note, another thing that I particularly enjoy about my job is that I get to do presentations for the new hires and basically be the first to meet them. I like that I get to interact with a lot of young people and visitors.

Free food would be our fave part too for sure! What are your favourite kinds of food or cuisines to eat?
I love Western food. The company usually hires a private chef to prepare the food for us, which is really yummy.

Going back to what you said about being the first to meet new hires, what is it like interacting with so many new faces and young people on a daily basis?
It keeps me on my toes. Young people tend to want to get things done their way, but we usually try to talk to them and explain how things work in the company. As with most big companies, things are quite rigid, so they usually end up accepting it.

That must be tough. Outside of work, what do you enjoy doing?
I like planting, baking, travelling, and shopping (laughs). I have my own garden at home with a variety of plants like money plants and other taller plants. I must say I use our big balcony space well (laughs).

Ooh! Do you grow any edible plants?
No, but I want to! Maybe curry leaves or chili padi, which is my family’s favourite.
