Setting The Stage

Introduce yourself.
I’m Aysha, and I’m currently studying Technical Theatre and Production at ITE College Central. I’m also interning at Buds Theatre, which is a non-profit organisation.

What do you enjoy about studying and working in theatre?
I enjoy it because we get to venture out into different areas. We can do things related to business, architecture, and different types of work.

My favourite part of my internship is getting to take on different shows. We’re currently working on the Asian Youth Theatre Festival, which is a youth theatre programme that happens every year. This year, it’s being held in Brunei, and next year, it’ll be in Singapore for its 10th anniversary, if I’m not wrong.

For this year, I’ll be taking care of the different groups. We’ll also be going over a week earlier to do the bump-in and everything.

All the best for that! What do you enjoy doing outside of theatre?
I like going out and exploring new places. We usually come around this area to eat because the prices aren’t bad! There’s also this new froyo place that I want to try.

Lastly, is there anything you’re looking forward to for the rest of the year?
I’m looking forward to celebrating New Year’s because it’ll be my boyfriend and I’s first anniversary!
