Moderated Discipline

Truth be told, it was Deon’s bright orange boat shoes that first caught our eye but then we noticed his subtle colour blocking – a forest green shirt atop navy pants. Naming Craig Alexander – the oldest course record holder for the Ironman World Championship – as his role model, Deon himself is one of discipline. He concedes that “food is my first love but it unwittingly puts me in a calories debt which I have to clear with a consistent workout regime”. We reckon he’ll be hitting the gym pretty often this festive season. Governed by the axiom of “moderation is key”, Deon believes that it is the moderation in life that gives us the courage to “try new stuff and learn new things” and shares that he would like to have dinner with a Yakuza boss, “provided that he doesn’t chop me up (guffaws)”.
