A quiet thinker, she enjoys researching on topics she’s unfamiliar with. “I just finished watching two documentaries, one on rabies and the other, ‘Google and the World Brain’,” she shared. “The latter is interesting, it talks about the very possible prospect of controlled intelligence.” Trying to reboot her momentum for drawing, Cleo is studying Yoshitomo Nara’s span of work. “My favourite character is the white dog,” she said. “It’s the dog he abandoned as a child and he has always felt guilty about it, so this is his way of remembering him.” Having recently adopted a dog herself, perhaps this story hits close to home. “Hollie is a Shetland Sheepdog and an escape artist,” Cleo said. “If I lose her for real, maybe I will immortalise her like Nara did.”
