You mentioned that you worked in marine engineering previously—why the change?
Before my current job in a publishing company, I’d been a ship engineer for 18 years. That involved a lot of climbing up and down, which was demanding on my knees, so a friend suggested that I try something deskbound. I found this job, and although it was challenging at first, I got used to it.
What are some of your wardrobe staples?
I used to wear a lot of black and white, but now I’m into colours and patterns.
What would be a dish that best represents you?
Sweet and sour fish! I like the strong flavours and bright colours, it’s like the way I dress.
What’s a quote or philosophy you live by?
To always be happy.
What’s a tip you’d give to someone who just started working?
Not to fear failure, and face it.
