Dark Dreams

What’s something not many people know about you?
I’m a model and an illustrator, and despite drawing dark and scary things, I’m actually quite afraid of the dark. (laughs)

What are some of your favourite things to draw?
I draw a lot of portraits of girls, but in a fantasy style with some surreal elements; they usually have horns and third eyes and a bit of a scary edge.

You also travel quite a lot for your work—what’s the most interesting place you’ve been to?
I’d say Hong Kong is the coolest place I’ve been to—many places are easily within reach, and even though we often think of it as a concrete jungle, nature is actually always within arm’s reach, and you can always go to the beach or go hiking.

If you could switch lives with anyone for a day, who would it be and why?
Marilyn Manson. He’s such an intellectual and he lives so freely; I’m curious about how his mind works. Most people think it’s just weirdness but I think he has a depth of thought.

If you could change one thing about the world, big or small, what would it be and why?
I’d like to see more acceptance, and less of people forcing their views or beliefs onto others. People not being able to accept that others have different beliefs and opinions is often the cause of war, and I think we could all do with a little more acceptance and respect for others’ views.
