What do you do for work, and how long have you been in this field?
I manage the office at an aviation company, and also act as an assistant to my Managing Director.

I’ve been in this company for five years following a nine-month break after giving birth. Before that, I was in the same field but in a different role, so I decided to continue on the path I left off since I enjoy what I do.

What’s your favourite part about your job?
I like that no two days are the same. There’s always something new that I need to learn or implement, so it’s more exciting than a fully desk-bound job.

Share with us how motherhood has been for you.
Exhausting! (laughs) But it’s also fulfilling because I see parts of myself in my son.

It’s also interesting to grow together with him through each phase of his life. He’ll be seven next year and heading to primary school, so I’ll have to stop treating him as a kindergartener and adapt to his new lifestyle of waking up early for school.

What’s one thing you’d like your son to remember as he grows up?
The same advice that I live by—do what makes you happy.

Sometimes in life, we may have ambitions that end up not being fulfilling when we actually do it, so we just need to keep on chasing that sense of happiness.

What does your typical weekend look like?
I enter each weekend without a plan as I’m more of a spontaneous person. Otherwise, I like to watch Netflix or shut down completely and do nothing (laughs).

The last Netflix series I watched was Sex/Life. The name itself is misleading because it’s not exactly about sex, but rather about love and the non-closure of past relationships; it’s really interesting!

You work at Odeon Towers, what’s your go-to lunch spot?
For me, I have to eat Halal food and the options are quite limited here, but I’ll usually eat at the foodcourt, Soup Spoon, or my personal favourite, Wok Hey.
