We love Clarrie’s casual look — there’s a bit of glamour in the form of a bejewelled necklace and her free-flowing locks, toned down with a pair of well-worn sneakers and a simple tee, but she was unfortunately chided for her outfit today. “We usually dress down on Fridays, but they thought it was a little too much this week,” she says. Clarrie works in banking, which explains the slightly tougher dress code, but she says that she’s usually quite a “lazy” dresser. “My maid determines what I wear,” she jokes. “I usually grab the top few pieces on the pile and make do with them. My clothes are very basic, so it’s not difficult to mix and match.” Nonetheless, she’s a stickler about certain things. “Leggings are not pants,” she says. “And you should avoid pink lipstick if you have yellow teeth. Make up counts as fashion too.” Carrie hasn’t been at her job for long, and says she’s still adjusting, so her weekends and off days are usually filled with her just taking time to chill out. “I’m a sloth; I survive on Roller Coasters (potato rings), a rotatable chair, and my laptop off work.” There’s one thing she won’t say no to, however. “My favourite place to go is the zoo. In every country I’ve been to, I’ve insisted on adding the zoo into the itinerary,” she says. “I visit the Singapore Zoo once every year on my birthday.” We find this to be highly endearing, and truly befitting of Clarrie’s personal motto: learn to love, and love to learn.
