Equal Footing
What’s been the biggest change you went through over the course of 2019?
I started bouldering more regularly, and I bought my Onewheel skateboard, which made a world of difference to my daily commutes.
If you had to recommend three songs to someone to get to know you better, what would they be?
Rather than songs, I’d like to recommend some podcasts I really enjoy:
–The Indie Hackers Podcast by Courtland Allen
–Starting Greatness by Mike Maples from Floodgate
–StarTalk Radio by Neil deGrasse Tyson
One marketing campaign that you wish you had been a part of:
The first thing that comes to mind is the IKEA Cheras video. I wish I was a part of the team—it looks like so much fun! It has the right balance of weirdness, creativity, and actually promoting a product. Creatives are going to hate me for saying this, but sometimes people forget that there’s a product to sell, and it’s not all about creativity and awards.
What’s one assumption people have about you that’s untrue?
Everything’s probably true at some point, to some extent.
What’s one of the most spontaneous things you’ve ever done?
While I was travelling in the United States, I booked a previously unplanned trip to Honduras. When I arrived, I realised nobody spoke English, so I had to follow American backpackers around in order to get where I needed to go. Thankfully it all worked out, and I ended up staying there for eight months learning and teaching free-diving. I still can’t speak Spanish.
