Familar Footsteps

Tell us about yourself and what you do.
I’m Liqi, and I’m currently in my second year studying biological science at NTU. I’m actually on my school holidays right now! I find the lab work we do quite fun and interesting. It gets pretty complicated, but the professors explain everything really well. We learn about human biology first, followed by a lot of lab work before we go for our internships. Eventually, I’m planning to work in a hospital!

I had already booked my trip here for a holiday, and it just so happened to coincide with his concert. I love supporting local Filipino artists, especially him, because he has a very good fashion sense that I take a lot of inspiration from.

What do you do for leisure?
Lately, I’ve been traveling quite a bit. I recently went to Thailand for a week, and then to Malaysia for a month to visit my grandparents. When I’m in Singapore, I love watching dramas and exercising in the parks. I usually go for jogs with my dad in the evening!

Which parts of Singapore do you like hanging out in the most?
I head down to Bugis quite a bit. There’s a lot of good food there, and it’s also where I get my nails done! I used to buy my clothes around the area too, but once I realised many of them were actually from Taobao, I just started buying them directly online instead.

How would you describe your style?
I don’t think I have one specific style; I tend to just follow the latest trends. Right now, I’m incorporating lots of ribbon and plaid elements into my looks. I usually plan out my outfits for school the night before!
