Fantastic Woman

You’ve been here since October last year. How has it been?
Honestly, it’s hard not to like Singapore. I love the weather, I love Asia. I’ve lived in Japan for three years, in Hong Kong for two years, and I really like it here. People are very nice and laid-back.

Something interesting about me:
I’m half French, half Moroccan, and I’ve lived in many countries: Japan, Canada, Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and France. It’s really interesting and fun because people never really know where I come from. When I go to Spain, people speak to me in Spanish and when I was in Nepal, people spoke to me in Nepali. Sometimes, people think I’m Indian or South American, nobody really knows I’m from Morocco or France!

What are some things to do/see in Morocco?
It’s a very beautiful country. I recommend the city called Essaouira. It’s like an artsy city and there are many exhibitions. It’s a surfing spot as well. It’s a really chill place and that’s why I like it, compared to the more stressful cities like Marrakesh.

What do you like to do in your free time?
I like discovering new things and since I’ve been here, I’ve been practising yoga. I’d never practised yoga before. I like going for exhibitions and art-related events as well; I was recently at Singapore Design Week. I love hanging out with my friends and discovering new things and new people.

Favourite movie:
It’s hard to say but I recently saw a really good show—Captain Fantastic. It’s a beautiful film.
