Flesh And Bone

Tell us more about where you’re from, and how long you’ve been in Singapore.
I’m from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and I’ve been in Singapore for 22 years.

I moved here alone many years ago because I love it here. The environment is so nice, and it’s clean and safe. But I do visit Ho Chi Minh often, at least once every six or twelve months. The last time I went back was just in June actually.

Those are some nice tattoos that you have. Can you tell us more about them?
I have three tattoos in total on different parts of my body. I got the one on my back seven years ago from a Vietnamese artist in Singapore, but the one on my belly is quite new.

I got stretch marks after giving birth, so I recently decided to use a tattoo to cover them up (laughs).

How many children do you have?
I only have one daughter, and she’s already 23. She’s still studying in Singapore, but she has moved out to live with her boyfriend already (laughs). We are still very close though.

When you’re not working, what do you enjoy doing?
I like being outdoors, so I ride my bicycle or go jogging outside. I also like going to the beach, so I visit West Coast Park often.

I do sometimes cook at home, but I only cook simple dishes. I don’t really like to cook big portions of food.
